or ZENIS (Ζηνεύς, Ζηνίς), of Chios wrote a work on his native country. (Athen. 13.601f.) As he is only mentioned in this passage of Athenaeus, it has been conjectured that the name may be a mistake, and that we ought to read Xenomedes, who was also an historian of Chios.
