a Roman comic dramatist who occupies the eighth place in the canon of Volcatius Sedigitus [SEDIGITUS]. Varro, while he assigns the palm to Titinius and Terence in the delineation of character (ἤθη), classes together Trabea, Attilius, and Caecilius as masters in the art of touching the feelings (πάθη). The period when he flourished is uncertain, but he has been placed by Gronovius about B. C. 130. No portion of his works has been preserved with the exception of half a dozen lines quoted by Cicero.
