3. Tribune of the plebs, B. C. 43, first put his veto upon the decree of the senate, which declared M. Antonius a public enemy, but was afterwards induced not only to withdraw his opposition, but to become a warm supporter of all the measures of Cicero. He was, in consequence, proscribed by the triumvirs towards the close of the year, and was put to death while he was entertaining some friends at a banquet. (Appian, App. BC 3.50, &c., 4.17.)
