1. A son of cercaphus, grandson of Aeolus and father of Amyntor, was believed to have founded the town of Ormenium, in Thessaly. From him Amyntor is sometimes called Ormenides, and Astydameia, his grand-daughter, Ormenis. (Hom Il. 2.734, 9.448, 10.266, Od. 15.413; ov. Her. 9.50.)
