(Νεῖλος), the god of the river Nile in Egypt, is said to have been a son of Oceanus and Thetys, and father of Memphis and Chione. (Hes. Th. 338; Apollod. 2.1.4; Serv. ad Aen. 4.250.) Pindar (Pind. P. 4.90) calls him a son of Cronos.
