2. Grandson of the preceding, and son of Pythagoras and Theano. According to some accounts he succeeded Aristaeus [ARISTAEUS] as president of the Pythagorean school. (Suid. s. v. Θεανώ ; Iamblich. Vit. Pyth. 100.36.) According to a notice in Photius (Phot. Bibl. 259, p. 438b. ed. Bekker), he died young.
