a contemporary of the emperor Otho, commanded a detachment of troops at Brixellun; and after the fall of Otho he assisted in suppressing the insurrection among the soldiers, A. D 69. Shortly after he is said to have instigated Caecina to his treachery against Vitellius ; and Vespasian afterwards sent him out to suppress the Sarmatians, in which he succeeded. The C.
