1. Q.OgulniusGallus, L. F. Q. N., was consul in B. C. 269 with C. Fabius Pictor, and carried on a war against the Picentes, which, however, was not brought to a close till the year after. This consulship is remarkable in the history of Rome as being the year in which silver was first coined at Rome. In B. C. 257 Q. Ogulnius was appointed dictator for the purpose of conducting the feriae Latinae. (Eutrop. 2.16; Liv. Epit. 15; Plin. Nat. 33.13.)
