a Roman eques of the time of the Emperor Claudius. After the death of King Agrippa, in A. D. 44, he was appointed by Claudius procurator of Judaea. During his administration peace was restored in the country, and the only disturbance was created by one Teudas, who came forward with the claim of being a prophet.
