(Ἐπίνικος), an Athenian comic poet of the new comedy, two of whose plays are mentioned, Ὑποβαλλόμεναι and Μνησιπτόλεμος. The latter title determines his date to the time of Antiochus the Great, about B. C. 217, for Mnesiptolemus was an historian in great favour with that king. (Suid. s.v.
