3. Of Chios, a flute player, who is said to have been the first who played the Bacchic spondee on the flute. (Athen. 14.638.) It may be that he is the same as Dion, the αὐλοποιός, who is mentioned by Varro. (Fragm. p. 198, ed. Bipont.)
