or DERCYLLUS (Δερκύλος, Δερκυλλος), a very ancient Greek writer, mentioned several times in connexion with Agias, the latter being a different person probably from the author of the Νόστοι, with whom Meineke identifies him. We find the following works of Dercylus referred to : 1. Ἀργολικά. 2. Ἰταλικά. 3. Αἰτολικά. 4. Κτίσεις. 5. Σατυρικά, apparently on the fables relating to the Satyrs. 6. Περὶ ὀρῶν. 7. Περὶ λίθων. The exact period at which he flourished is uncertain. (Plut. Par. Min. 17, 38, de Fluv. 8, 10, 19, 22; Athen. 3.86f.; Clem. Al. Strom. i. p. 139, ed. Sylb.; Schol. ad Eur. Troad. 14; Meineke, Hist. Crit. Corm. Graec. p. 417.)
