(Δαΐφαντος), a Theban, who was slain at the battle of Mantineia, B. C. 362. It is said that Epaminondas, after he had received his mortal wound, asked successively for Daiphantus and Iolaidas, and, when he heard of their death, advised his countrymen to make peace. (Plut.
