(Χάροψ), bright-eyed or joyful-looking, a surname of Heracles, under which he had a statue near mount Laphystion on the spot where he was believed to have brought forth Cerberus from the lower world. (Paus. 9.34.4.) There are also two mythical beings of this name. (Hom. Od. 11.427; Hom. Hymn. in Merc. 194; Hyg. Fab. 181.)
