1. L.AemiliusBuca, the father (Ascon. in Scaur. p. 29, ed. Orelli), is supposed to have been quaestor under Sulla, and to have struck the annexed coin to commemorate the dream which Sulla had on his approach to Rome from Nola, in B. C. 83. (Plut. Sull. 9.) On the obverse is the head of Venus, with L. BVCA; on the reverse a man sleeping, to whom Diana appears with Victory. (Eckhel, v. p. 121.)
