(Ἀζησία), a surname of Demeter and Persephone, which is derived either from ἀζαίνειν τοὺς καρπούς, to dry fruits, or from ζητεῖν, to seek. (Zenob. 4.20; Suid. s.v. Hesych. sub voce Spanheim, ad Callim. p. 740.)
