son of Julius Ausonius and Aemilia Aeonia, was a young man of great promise, who was being brought up to follow his father's profession as a physician, but died at an early age, in the fourth century after Christ. He was a younger brother of the poet Ausonius, who in one of his poems (Parent. xiii.) laments his premature death, and gives the above particulars of his life.
