2. CassiusApronianus, the father of Dio Cassius, the historian, was governor of Dalmatia and Cilicia at different periods. Dio Cassius was with his father in Cilicia. (D. C. 49.36, 69.1, 72.7.) Reinar (de Vita Cassii Dionis § 6. p. 1535) supposes, that Apronianus was admitted into the senate about A. D. 180.
