3. Of CYZICUS, was connected by friendship with the Persian satrap Pharnabazus, and afterwards formed a similar connexion with Agesilaus. Soon after this, Pharnabazus requested him to persuade Agesilaus to meet him, which was done accordingly. (Xenoph. Hellen. 4.1.29; Plut. Ages. 12.) This happened in B. C. 396, shortly before the withdrawal of Agesilaus from the satrapy of Pharnabazus.
