(Ἀλκέτας), the eighth king of MACEDSONIA, counting from Caranus, and the fifth, counting from Perdiccas, reigned, according to Eusebius, twenty-nine years. He was the father of Amyntas I., who reigned in the latter part of the sixth century B. C. (Hdt. 8.139.)
