C. 52</date>, and had
      previously suffered injuries from Clodius. (Cic. <hi rend="ital">pro Mil.</hi> 27.) He appears
      to have been praetor in Sicily in <date when-custom="-50">B. C. 50</date> and 49, and in the latter
      year the senate appointed Postumius as his successor (<hi rend="ital">ad Att.</hi> 7.5.2).

      Sicily, with the title of proconsul, in <date when-custom="-45">B. C. 45</date> (<hi rend="ital">ad
